I used gel filtration with a G75 Sephadex FPLC coloumn for a ascites
purification of a mouse IgM. It seperates the low weight albumin very
well. Plus you can purify your IgM into PBS or the buffer you prefer.
I think the rat IgM is similar in size, so you can use this method as
well.
