I am working on separation of low molecular weight (LMW) proteins/peptides (MW 2 -8 kDa) in SDS-polyacrylamide
electrophoresis. The gels are fixed in a solution containing 40% methanol, 10% acetic acid
and 50% aqua. dest. My problem is that I loose most of the LMW-material while the gels are fixed and
stained (silver). I'd be interested to get information about fixation procedures which also fix small proteins
in the gel.
