Saturation with casein hydrolysate is usually a good way to get rid of
background.
In place to absorb your secondary antibody, you can use F(ab)'2
fragments, to avoid heterophilic interactions between Fc fragments and
reactive regions of moABs. It is a little bit more time consumming to
prepare, but in many times it solves magically background problems.
