/snip - a question on how sensitive ELISA is/

The short answer is that it depends on the sensitivity of the substrate
(chemiluminescent being the most sensitive) - you can detect femtogram
levels of proteins.

The most sensitive commercial ELISA assays are the TSH assays sold by
the diagnostic companies AFAIK.
