NATO-Advanced Workshop
Fundamentals for the Assessment of Risks from
Environmental Radiation
October 6-10, 1997
An Advanced Research Workshop of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization
(NATO) on Fundamentals for the Assessment of Risks from Environmental
Radiation will be held October 6-10, 1997, in Brno, Czech Republic. The
purpose of the ARW is (1) to discuss the current state of knowledge of
the fundamental radiobiological processes and concepts in risk
estimation and radiation protection and (2) to define future research
work needed for the assessment of risks to human health and ecosystems
from environmental - ionizing as well as UVB - radiation. The review
papers, the recommendations and the selected contributions will be
published in the NATO Science Series. Limited financial support for
