Autoimmune demyelination is one of the proposed mechanisms of MS. Many
authors list MS as an auoimmune disease due to the presence of immune
T-cells in the CNS of patients. Not all MS'ers, however, have antibodies
to CNS bits. The T-cells are responsible for much of the damage in the CNS
as well as the products of other immune-type cells (free radicals etc.)
