I am a student researcher from the Univ. of Florida, and I have been
trying to use an "indirect sandwich" ELISA to measure NGF in postnatal
rat brain. I have run in to some complications. Our values for NGF
levels are well over the consistent values published over recent years.
I would like to know if someone has had any problems setting up an NGF
ELISA in their lab. I would also like to know if there are any
suggestions as to why we cannot seem to get reasonable data (ANYTHING).
We have spent a lot of time trying to elucidate factors which could be
skewing our results and have searched the literature thoroughly. We
have been "measuring" NGF in 4,10, and 21 day-old H-Tx rats from
striatum, hippocampus, and posterior cortex using the "NGFemax" system
from Promega Corp.
