To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is an introduction to IGEN International. Below I will briefly touch
on the areas the Origen®electrochemiluminescent analyzer maybe of value to your
organization.
What can IGEN and the Origen® technology do for you and your research? We
currently provide services to all the major pharmaceutical and biotechnology
companies through:
* Assay Feasibility, Development and Validation (proteins & nucleic acids)
* Clinical Trial Sample Analysis (GLP & non-GLP)
* High Throughput Screening Services
* Phage Display Antibody Production
* Residual DNA Quantitation for Release Testing and Clean Validation
* Origen® analyzer systems
*
All of IGENs products and services are based on the Origen® analyzer. It is
extremely versatile and allows for the quantitation of the binding event of any
two molecules that come together with specificity. Assay formats such as
protein-protein assays, PCR product quantitation, multiplex PCR, ELISAs,
affinity studies, RIAs, receptor-ligand, etc
. can be improved upon in a number
of parameters, such as:
* Highly sensitive detection - sub picogram capability
* Simple one step, no wash format - results in minutes
* Extremely stable non isotopic reagents - >> one year
* Wide dynamic range - 5 log capability
* Assay versatility and flexibility - rapid optimization in many matrices
* Low cost assays (uses less reagent)
In April, 1998, IGEN will add a residual DNA quantitation kit to its product
line, for measuring host cell DNA during production and product release testing.
This kit will measure host DNA from 5-5000pg/ml, with CVs of <20%, sample
volumes as low as 5ul, no matrix or RNA interference, and be able to complete as
assay, from sample prep to data, in less than 4 hours!
With these benefits, the ORIGEN® technology has enabled our current customers
(American Home Products, Chiron, Bristol-Meyers Squibb, Biogen, Amgen, Eli Lilly,
Schering Plough, Bayer, Pfizer, Glaxo Wellcome...) to significantly enhance their
research results in departments as diverse as Drug Discovery, Pre-Clinical &
Clinical, Process Development, Manufacturing, Quality Control and High Throughput
Screening.
In addition, some customers have taken advantage of IGENs Contract Services
capabilities to analyze research or clinical samples, or develop antibodies
utilizing phage display technology, thus allowing them an opportunity to;
* Bring a product to market faster.
* Decrease assay turnaround time.
* Decrease laboratory operational costs.
The ORIGEN® system can deliver a faster, more sensitive assay over a wider
dynamic range, with
better reproducibility in a variety of matrices, with less labor and less cost.
The IGEN Contract Services Group has the flexibility to meet your GLP sample
needs through assay development, validation and sample analysis. The sample
analysis can be performed either at IGENs GLP labs in Gaithersburg, Maryland, or
by placing experienced IGEN staff in your laboratory.
I would appreciate an opportunity to discuss how the ORIGEN® technology and
IGENs Contract Services capabilities could be used in support of your unique
needs. I can be reached via voice mail at 1-800-336-4436, ext.3555.
