A couple of ideas:
1. The band isn't real, but rather is an artifact.
2. The cytokine is unstable and may be degrading before you get it
transferred. Are ther any delays between the time you induce the
cytokine and the time you get it into a gel?
3. Have you tried an ELISA for the cytokine? You could compare results.
