Hello!
I would be grateful to hear from colleagues working in Clinical Microbiology
on the subject of workload measurement units. During the seventies the
Canadian system was frequently mentioned in the literature, and in the
eighties the WELCAN system which was derived from it was popular in the
United Kingdom. Unfortunately, funding was withdrawn for for the Welcan
steering group, and there have been no updates since 1994. I
believe that the system in the US- CAP has also been abandoned. Can anyone
help me in understanding why these systems were done away with, and what
exactly is the current method of comparing workloads.
I would be delighted to hear your views.
Very best wishes
Peter
