Hello:
I have a question regarding the activation of infected macrophages in
an infection with M. tuberculosis. Does it matter how many bacteria are
inside a macrophage in order to become activated? I know that T cells
recognize the antigen and later are capable of activating the infected
macrophages. Is this antigen recognition and activation process
enhanced if the population of bacteria inside the macrophage is bigger?
