Transfections and cell cycle

Hi,

When performing a transient transfection on cultured cells (eg Fugene on
COS cells) do cells in all the different phases (G1, S, G2, M) of the cell
cycle take up DNA? Or is it only certain phases that take up plasmid DNA?

Any ideas, or places to look?
