How does CTLs survive their own ammo?

After being released in the extracellular space between the CTL and its
target, perforins and granzymes might as well attack the CTL itself. Or does
it have some kind of protection? Caspase inhibitors?

Does anybody know anything about it? Any references? Ideas?

Cheers,
