Hi! I have used formaldehyde for fixing cells... it does not disrupt the
memebrane as far as I know, it just causes cross-linking of the outer
membrane components and hence, fixes it...so no membrane secretion,
endocytosis etc can take place but the cell structure as such remans
intact.
