Dear Sonja,
it is very difficult to extract RNA from monocytes and macrophages due to
low yield.... It is not possible to see the RNA pellet with such few
cells... I recommend that you take at least 5 million cells to start with
in order to get a decent amount of RNA for your subsequent work... I use
Trizol method with good results on rat macrophages.... make sure you wash
the medium off carefully.
