Dear Ms. Nickolayeva,
Like everyone, I am very concerned
about "spam". The only good thing I can say about it is that its existence
is one guarantee that there is likely to be no censorship of what
contributors offer. Once in a fit of enthusiasm I wrote to the bionet
organizers offering to moderate more actively and filter out the spam. There
was no reply, and, with hindsight, I am glad I was spared the chore.
Actually, it would entail very
little effort if the bionet organizers would employ someone to filter out
what is clearly and unambigously "spam". This could be a service operating
on all bionet groups and would greatly improve the discourse which is
important for furthering the goals set out originally when individual groups
were founded (see individual group "charters").
