Hi,
I would like to know whether dendritic cells move around in the
tissues or sit still when fishing for invaders. (I'm aware of the fact
that once they have caught an invader, they move to the lymph nodes to
present it to other immune cells.)
Since macrophages move around, and macrophages originate from
monocytes just like dentritic cells, it seems plausible that dentritic
cells can also move. On the other hand, if the number of dendritic
cells is fairly high and everything is well defended, then moving
around wouldn't make sense.
Thanks,
Axel
