Dear all,
I am a plant biologist, thus have little knowledge on immunology.
Recently we isolated a plant gene which confers resistance to a
plant pathogen. It shares homology with T-cell receptor's
constant domain( vs variation domain?). I have two question.
Firstly, what is the function of the segment in the protein? is
the function experimentally approved or postulated? I could only
find homology of mouse and Rabbit source. I would like to see if
this homology extend to human or other vertebrates. So my second
question: is there any structural residues conserved ( fingerprint or
signature)
in the T cell receptor in the organisms using this defense mechanisms?
In addition, I would appreciate you very much if you could point me
for recent reviews
as literature startpoint. Tong
