Dear subscribers
I have some FBS that is nearing its expiry date (01.02.06 will be 3years)
and have about 20L of it remaining (which will not be used before expiry).
It has been stored at -70oC at all times and I would like to continue using
it for cryopreservation of PBMC and short term PBMC assays. I understand
that growth factors will degrade over time and have been told by the
manufacturer that the FBS could be fine to use for another 2 years for
tissue culture but they wont provide any assurance. So my question is, does
anyone have any information about using expired FBS for such uses as
detailed above?
Regards
Lina
