The seventh International Conference on AIS continues the tradition of providing a forum for the world's leading researchers in the area to present their latest results. ICARIS also encourages and supports newer researchers to the field, whether from academia or industry. Student grants will be available to contribute towards travel costs. If you perform research into artificial immune systems or modelling of immune systems, you need to come to Thailand and join us! World-leading researchers in the field will be present plenary lectures and a number of general and specialist tutorials will be run just before the main conference. All accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings, published by Springer- Verlag as part of their Lecture Notes series. Details of Springer Verlag can be found at http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/index.html and formatting details can be found at http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html. The conference will have four streams: 1. Computational immunology (for modelling and biology-specific work) Stream leader: Emma Hart 2. Applied AIS (for immune-inspired computer science systems, practical "AIS Success Story" applications in industry, commerce, arts, and academia) Stream leaders: Henry Lau < hyklau@hkucc.hku.hk> Vincenzo Cutello 3. Theoretical AIS (for theoretical analyses of computer science, information theory and/or biology) Stream leader: Andy Hone 4. Position papers (providing a novel argument - philosophical or methodological - relating to AIS and/or immunobiology). Stream leader: Jon Timmis Please contact individual stream leaders for more information. Note that position papers will have shorter time to present, and longer for discussion at the end. Important Dates --------------- Paper submission: April 4, 2008 Acceptance: May 2, 2008 Final Papers: May 16, 2008 Conference: August 10-13, 2008 Submission Instructions ----------------------- - All papers will undergo a blind review process, with at least three reviewers per paper. - The author name(s) and affiliation(s) should not appear on the paper. - Please follow the formatting instructions at the Springer-Verlag site (http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html). - Papers should be a maximum of twelve (12) pages. - Authors are requested to submit a PDF file no later than the submission deadline. - Papers should be submitted via the ICARIS 2008 paper submission website: http://biosoft.kaist.ac.kr/icaris2008 Organising Committee: --------------------- Conference Chairs: Doheon Lee, KAIST, Korea dhlee@biosoft.kaist.ac.kr Peter Bentley, University College, London, UK P.Bentley@cs.ucl.ac.uk Local Conference Chairs: Supiya Ujjin, NECTEC, Thailand ujjins@gmail.com Boonserm Kaewkamnerdpong, NECTEC, Thailand boonserm@gmail.com Publicity Chair: Sungwon Jung, KAIST, Korea swjung@biosoft.kaist.ac.kr Venue: ------ We are pleased to invite you to a wonderful beach-side hotel resort: Phuket Graceland Hotel (extremely reasonable accommodation will be available at the hotel at a discounted rate). http://www.phuketgraceland.com/ Excursions to the nearby islands will also be arranged for fun.-------------------------------------------------------------------- - Dr Emma Hart Reader, School of Computing Director of Centre for Emergent Computing http://www.dcs.napier.ac.uk/~emmah http://www.cec.soc.napier.ac.uk Napier University ----------------------------------------------------------------------- This message is intended for the addressee(s) only and should not be read, copied or disclosed to anyone else outwith the University without the permission of the sender.
