Historians believe that in newspost
<1179271012.138608.294220 from p77g2000hsh.googlegroups.com> on Tue, 15 May
2007, WS <novalidaddress from nurfuerspam.de> penned the following literary
masterpiece:
>I know that I could include the [author] directive, but why do I the
>get the paper, when I add the initials?

Presumably because the search engine software knows that a word followed
by letter is most likely to be an author name? There is a lot on syntax
in the help and FAQ's but an e-mail to Pubmed themselves may get an
explanation.
