PubMed query problem

I rarely use Pubmed to do my searches. scholar.google.com does a much
much better job than PUBMED.

Presumably because the search engine software knows that a word followed
by letter is most likely to be an author name? There is a lot on syntax
in the help and FAQ's but an e-mail to Pubmed themselves may get an
explanation.
