[Molecular-evolution] values for nucleotide polymorphism (theta) and pi

Hello All,

I wish to know the theoritical explaination on nucleotide polymorphism
(theta) and
nucleotide diversity (pi).  How this value explain the nucleotide diversity?
I am using the software DNAsp and Tassel. I have only a few knowledge in
this field.
