You might try searching your library catalog for books on this topic --
either by key words in the title or in the subject area. You can also
search a variety of databases either in machine-readable form (online,
CD-ROM) or in print--Psychological Abstracts/PsycINFO is one obvious
choice. If you find one or more "classic" works that are right on, you
can trace the topic forward in time using Science Citation Index/SCISEARCH
or the social science equivalent.
