Mr. Mazzarella:
Greetings. I wondered if I have this misconcepton about neurons following
a program on the Discovery channel the other evening. Basically, it
described that whatever portion of the brain tissue that deteriorated
would be replaced by differentiated neurological cells (dendrites). I am
maybe misinformed but I thought nerve cells could not regenerate? And if
experiments have shown this to be the case are the studies based on some
kind of mylenoma hybrid? It just seemed a little too simple on the
Discovery program and I don't think our understanding of human memory
etc. has been that conclusive.
