Folk,
I am looking for an answer (or suggestions of source for an
answer) for two questions:
1. Does orally taken citrate cross the blood-brain
barrier? (i.e is there a transport mechanism?)
2. How long is citrate likely to remain in circulation
before being taken out by the liver?
[We'd like to give citrate to the level that could be produced
by glycolysis of 25g glucose, for memory studies, but the
conclusions will obviously be afected by the above...]
Thanks a lot! email replies probably best unless there's
something of general interest?
