Several improvements for Boltzmann machines have been proposed over the past
several years. You might start with Simon Haykin's new textbook on neural networks,
which describes many of the improvements. Hertz, Krogh and Palmer also mentions
some algorithms. You might also look at the papers in archive.cis.ohio-state.edu
in directory /pub/neuroprose. There are a few papers archived there on Boltzmann
networks.
