Research was reported by Anat Barnea & Fernando Nottebohm from Nottebohm's
laboratory at Rockerfeller University Feild research Station, Millbrook,
NY. Original report: Barnea & Nottebohm (1994). Seasonal recruitment of
hippocampal neurons in adult free-ranging black-capped chickadees.

This follows work by Nottebohm & Co. on the seasonal decay and
regeneration of neurons in male finches related to song production.
