It's not regeneration per se; neurons are not regenerating, but
rather new neurons are being born. Look under "Neurogenesis."
There's a fair amount of new stuff with gene expression,
particularly immediate early genes. Look up Clayton,
and Clayton and Alvarez-Bullya.
