I think that the cells colture is not the best model to do these experiments
In fact the excitotoxicity is in part due to synaptic transmission and I
suggest to study in vitro models like cortical slices. In this case you could
measure the electrophysiological parameters during synaptic stimulation in
condition of anoxia.
