I always found that book a little frustrating: it's long on "neuron"
and short on "brain." That is, it emphasizes cellular neurophysiology
at the expense of gross neuroanatomy, systems-level connectivity, and
human behavior.
The advanced introductory text I chose for my Physiological Psychology
course is Neil R. Carlson's _Physiology of Behavior_, 5th edition,
1994. Great text. If you want great illustrations to accompany it,
take a look at James W. Kalat's _Biological Psychology_, 5th edition,
1995.
Oh, and Kandel, Schwartz, et al. have just published a shorter,
undergraduate-level version of their textbook. I haven't seen it yet.
