The paper you are referring to, at least one of them - there was also one
in Science I think - is Parpura et al., Glutamate-mediated astrocyte-neuron
signalling. Nature 369:744-747.
In it it is demonstrated that calcium-dependent glutamate release from
astocytes triggered by bradykinin can act on neighboring neuronal cells.
