Not sure of that specific experiment, but it makes sense to me. Look for stuff
by Joseph LeDoux -- e.g., Sci Am, (1994), 270, 50-57, or a chapter in L. Squire
et al (Eds.) _Memory: organization and locus of change_, (1991), pp. 205-216.
If he didn't do it, he may cite it.
