NO and Glutamate Release

Is there any one who can help me with the following question?

In some model study about NMDA and non-NMDA currents. The neuro-
transmitter(glutamate)release is assumed in the way of pulses,
that is only after a stimulation (such as electrical stimulation),
  the pre-synapse releases the neurotransmitter(glutamate).

Some experimental researches show that Nitric Oxide (NO) would
enhance glutamate(by applying some NO donors, the extracellular
  glutamate level would be increased).

If 1uM NO can increase the glutamate to 2-fold of its basal level.
Does it mean that after a stimulation, the amplitude of the release
pulse of the glutamate from the pre-synapse will be increased by
  2-fold?

Your answer and help will be highly appreciated!!

  Tao
