prismatic adaptation and classic conditioning

HI!

I am developing a growing interest for prismatic adaptation. 

I read that it is possible to induce "effects" (at least at the very
beginning) on a trained subject
just by having him/her wear goggles with regular lenses, 
i.e. pairing the goggles and the visual distorsion.
When I went back to check the reference I found controvesial findings
about the  studies, namely different groups found different things. 
My last references are Kravitz 1972 and Welch 1971

Does anyone have more recent info? Or opinions on the topic?
