I am interested in looking at the differences between invertebrate (particuarly
insect) and vertebrate calcium channels in terms of ancestry. Basically, the
struggle to peg invertebrate calcium channels into the same holes as vertebrate
calcium channels is not easy nor I would say fruitful. I've a gross lack of
references on the subject of ancestral ion channels which I would like to
explore as a link from invertebrate to vertebrate. Possibly this has been
discussed with the sodium channel? I would appreciate some direction or
thought.
