NEGATIVE ION MACHINES (fwd)

I have done some more research about the negative ion machines and mood.
The key seems to be that you need to be certain that you use a *HIGH
DENSITY* negative ion machine, and not an air purifier.

A recent study was discussed on CBS evening News (Connie Chung) 2/14/95.
I sent for a transcript of the news and it indicated that negative ions
may increase brain levels of seratonin just as prozac does. It quoted a
recent study that, regarding depression, "concluded that 58 percent of
patients treated with high-density negative ions had significan relief of
their symptoms, almost identical to the number improved with drugs, but
without drug side effects.

I have purchased a machine, but it was the wrong kind. (Not high density)
Yet, I find my mood better since using it.

The research has found it effective for SAD (seasonal affective disorders)
and depression, as well as mood elevation in non-clinically depressed
people.

I will continue to post information and hope to set up a WWW page and an
auto-responder when I have found and reviewed all of the research.

PS If anyone has had any experience with a HIGH DENSITY negative ion
machine, please email me with your experiences, and where you purchased
the machine?
