"The Gods of War: An Investigation into the Intrapsychic Bases of
Motivation for Social Conflict." This book can be accessed at:

It purports to describe why it is that human beings are prone to
intergroup conflict, at the individual level, and what can be done
about it. The book presents a novel interpretation of the structure of
myth, and relates that structure to fundamental cognitive and
emotional processes.
