I posted recently about this disease and received quite a bit of response. Now, my relative is coming to London to have an operation.
The surgeon in London has suggested "an incision at the back of the head onto the back of the neck and for part of the back of the skull and some of the laminae to be removed and the dural sac covering the brain and spinal chord expanded by putting in some other tissue from the side of the leg to increase the size of the sac".
Is this the standard procedure for decompression or are there different variants? Are there any evaluations of the different procedures?
