A quick-and-dirty search in Medline 1992-5 yielded 21 refs., all suggesting
that sensory ataxia is a symptom rather than a disease, one linking it to
Vitamin E deficiency, but without suggesting cause or effect.
References included a review of sensory neuropathies, published in:
Journal of Clinical Neurophysiology, November 11 1994, pp 553-67,
authors Mitsumoto and Wilson.

This should provide a good starting point. Hope this helps.
