My 14 year old son suffered a femoral nerve injury due to a large haemorrhage in
the right iliac fossa, while doing high jump on May 25, 1995. Subsequent EMG studies
of the rectus femoris (at one and three months post injury) showed acute denervation
changes and no improvement with time. Exploratory/nerve graft surgery has been
recommended.
Response from somebody with similar case history experience would be much
appreciated by this anxious parent. Please indicate improvements with time and final
extent of recovery.
