My uncle has a disease called Brain Infarction. He is 66 years old. He has
had some problems since past one and a half years starting with a stroke
in
Oct'94. The doctor said he had had a minor brain haemorrhage. He recovered
almost completely in a couple of months.
He started some problems again in Oct'95. He was having memory lapse, used
to talk incoherently and had to use support for walking. Couple of weeks
before that he had fallen and hit his head hard.
This time doctors told us that he had brain infarction. We were told,
there
is no medicinal cure or surgical procedure available. In the past six
months, his condition has deteriorated with time. About six weeks back, he
stopped speaking and eating. He is completely bedridden now and is on
liquid
diet being fed with a pipe going thru his nose. The latest CT Scan report
suggests the following,

==========================================================================
=
Ion Contrast C.T. Scan suggests :-
 - Intracerebral Infarctions in parietal parasagittal cortex of right
side.
 - ??Dacuner?? infarctions in left paraventricular region.
 - Mild degree generalised Hydrocephalus.

I would like to know if there is any drugs or surgical procedure available
to cure or arrest it from spreading any further. Any information as to
what
causes it.
I would appreciate any response to this posting.

Thanks,

Vikas Malik
