POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS
Two postdoctoral positions are available to study neuronal and molecular
mechanisms involved in circadian rhythmicity and sleep regulation.

Position 1. To study neurophysiology of the preoptic area, suprachiasmatic
nuclei and associated structures in the laboratories of Drs. Kazue Semba,
Benjamin Rusak and Michael Wilkinson. The opportunity exists to also
participate in molecular and behavioural studies of circadian and sleep
regulatory mechanisms. Candidates should have experience in
electrophysiology and an interest in biological rhythms and/or sleep.

Position 2: To study molecular mechanisms regulating mammalian circadian
rhythms in the laboratories of Drs. Benjamin Rusak and Harry Robertson. The
successful candidate will study aspects of gene expression in the nervous
system related to light input and behaviour. Experience with molecular
biological techniques and an interest in biological rhythms are essential.

These positions are available immediately for qualified Canadian applicants
or for those of any nationality in their first two postdoctoral years.
Others may apply at this time and will be considered if no suitable
candidates in these categories are identified.

For Position 1, send a curriculum vitae and three letters of reference to:
Dr. Kazue Semba, Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology, Faculty of
Medicine, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada B3H 4H7.
Email: semba at is.dal.ca.

For Position 2, send a curriculum vitae and three letters of reference to:
Dr. Benjamin Rusak, Department of Psychology, Life Sciences Centre,
Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada B3H 4J1. Email:
