PhD and PostDoc positions in Neuroscience available in Goettingen, Germany
Thu Mar 20 14:31:45 1997
==============================================================================
At the Department of Neuro and Sensory Physiology
of the University of Goettingen several positions
are available for PhD candidates and one PostDoc
position:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The first research group concentrates on basic mechanisms of synaptic
transmission and neuromodulation in functional _in vitro_ networks
of wild type and mutant mice. Modern neurophysiological methods employed
include whole-cell and single-channel analyses, rapid application of receptor
agonists and antagonists, infrared microscopy, microfluorimetric imaging and
single-cell PCR techniques.
The work is closely associated with the SFB 406 Program "Synaptic Interaction
in Neuronal Networks" of the University of Goettingen, local Max-Planck
Institutes and the German Primate Center.

Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in molecular and/or
cellular neurobiology.
Applications, including a CV, list of publications, and the names of two
academic referees should be addressed to

The second research group investigates receptor and transduction mechanisms
in the olfactory system. We have a position open for a PhD candidate, financed
by a program of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft on the subject, "Molecular
Sensory Physiology".
