We have an immediate opening for a highly motivated
post-doctoral fellow interested in utilizing gene therapy for
conditions affecting the central nervous system. The successful
candidate will develop novel vectors for gene therapy as part of a
multidisciplinary research team in the Laboratory of Molecular
Neurosurgery at the University of Virginia
Ongoing projects focus on 1)Targeting of gene therapy for CNS
tumors, 2) Induction of bone growth for spine fusion and other
applications, 3) Use of genetically modified cells for treatment
of aneurysms, 4) Gene therapy for prevention of neurodegeneration
and stimulation of regeneration.
The ideal candidate would be experienced in virology and/or
gene therapy. Team players with excellent communication and
organizational skills required.
