Recommendations for electrophys software

[lyle borg-graham]

I am looking for electrophysiological control, data acquisition and
analysis software that allows for simultaneous foreground protocol
control and acquistion, and background continuous streaming of amplifier
data to hard disk (akin to recording in parallel to a DAT).

Any suggestions appreciated.
