It is my understanding that spinal surgery can be performed by either
neurosurgeons or orthopedic surgeons. If this is true, can anyone tell me
why one would choose one over the other? I've been to a few neurosurgeons
and though I have some pretty bad symptoms, when they look at the ruptured
disks in my spine, they tell me they aren't bad enough to warrant surgery. I
think this because they cannot verify the problem with their tests with the
probes--can't recall what it's called. Would an orthopedic surgeon feel the
same? Do they do this same type testing?
Any thoughts would be appreciated...
