Hi,
I derive tremendous enjoyment from reading about neurological
dysfunction, in particular, brain disorders. Lately, I've been looking
into pursuing a career in medicine. Unfortunately, I've found that lab
work doesn't suit me and the physicians I've spoken to in private
practice have warned me how little their careers resemble the dream
they initially chased. On the other hand, one mentioned that a medical
career at a university would afford me the opportunity I'm looking for.
I'm interested in studying patients who suffer from strange brain
abnormalities be they chemical, structural, or psychological. Does
anyone work in this field and can give me insight into what their day,
month, and year are like? Do you see interesting cases regularly? Is it
a fun and exciting experience? Are you able focus on and learn the
things that interest you? Any help anyone can provide would be very
much appreciated.
Thanks,
Ev
