"'It seems the CT network conveys emotions, or a sense of self.'"

this makes sense because the many-relay pathway is entirely-ipsilateral [feeding information into pathways that cross, either in the spinal cord or in the brain stem].

within the IFR, slef is represented ipsilaterally, and not-self ['environment'] is represented contralaterally.

this mapping correlates with 'act'\'be-acted-upon', respectively, and is a major 'portion' of the "special topological homeomorphism's" solution of the 'binding-problem' with respect to the one-way flow of energy from order to disorder that is what's described by 2nd Thermo [WDB2T].

the "special topological homeomorphism" maps 'self' and 'not-self' with respect to WDB2T, which enables 'Intelligent' action-upon and reaction-to 'environmental' WDB2T through achieving TD E/I-minimization within 'internal' WDB2T.

the whole of what's referred to as the "protopathic system", which includes the many-relay C-fibre pathway', maps 'self' within the "special topological homeomorphism" [and internal frome of reference].

the relatively-slow conduction-rate within the "protopathic system" is misleading. it's conduction-rate is tuned to the 'constancy'-of-'self', relative to the dynamicism of the external environment ['not-self'], and, therefore, optimizes regocnition of that which is changinging in 'not-self', which facilitates TD E/I-minimized, survival-inducing, by-production of effector activations.

all of this stuff [and everything else that's outlined in AoK] is of-a-piece in NDT.
