Did I claim expertise? And you know people who've been alive for the
past 2000 years? *L* Sweet, I'd like to meet them. *is gonna live
forever you know*

You certainly are no expert. If I wanted to qoute the Bible I can just
go and pick up my parents family bible (King James red letter version)
and qoute right along with you without any qualms.

What I DO know, though, is that Christianity took several holidays from
Pagans, changed the idols and the words and the ritual a tad, and bam,
it's something "original". It happens. I'm sure the Pagans got their
rituals from someone else. Who knows. That was over 30,000 years ago in
the case of Pagans (although modern Paganism isn't anything like it was
even 2K years ago). But as you can see, the Pagans evolved and adapted
to their surroundings, always finding new ways of doing things and
celebrating life while Christians are stuck 2000 years in the past.
Kinda sad. The Bible is a great guide book and the ten commandments
(most of them anywho) are some of the best common sense rules to ever
live by. MOST people live by them without even knowing it. A LOT of
people live by them and are Pagan. Your creation story, not original
either. Aboriginal tribes dating back thousands of years earlier then
Christianity all share a creation story that include interesting
parallels to Christianities own (including talk of a great flood). Good
stories never die, mi amigo. Who knows, maybe there was a great flood
that wiped out most life on the planet (geologists are finding evidence
to support that, I think, as well as the extinction of the dinosaurs).
Maybe the flood was caused by the meteor that slammed into earth and
happened at the same time as the great flood of legends. We'll never
know for sure until a time machine is created, but the probablity of
that is the same for as you and me meeting in person.
